It is the primary objective of this class to expose you to the varying ideas of databases and database design, with a major focus on the relational model and SQL (Structured Query Language). Advanced database concepts such as transaction management and concurrency control, distributed databases, multi-tier client/server architectures and Web-based database applications are also introduced.ĬOURSE OBJECTIVES Like any introduction class, we will be exploring a vast array of topics, rather than a detailed drill-down. Using Microsoft’s SQL Server DBMS as an implementation vehicle, this course provides hands-on experience in database design and implementation through assignments, lab exercises and class exercises. Creating a Manual Column in the Grade Center.Students can benefit from seeing achievements or instructor feedback and, if necessary, adjust their approach to learning to improve performance. Data in the grade center is archived each week and can be retrieved from backup. Faculty can create grade columns for any activities or requirements they want to score such as projects, class participation or attendance. Instructors can select which grades are displayed to students on their My Grades page, supply feedback to the students, create weighted columns and exclude certain assessments from final score calculations.
